Politician Jaguar: Eric Omondi can’t bring any change in Kenya!

Musician and politician Charles ‘Jaguar’ Njagua has spoken out about comedian Eric Omondi’s humanitarian efforts amid the ongoing heavy rains in Kenya.

Through his ‘Sisi Kwa Sisi’ initiative, Eric Omondi has been actively visiting and helping many affected people in different regions of the country.

Despite his efforts, the government critic continues to voice his discontent, claiming that the authorities have failed to provide meaningful support to the hundreds of Kenyans affected.

In response to the comedian’s actions, the former Starehe MP has called on Eric to work with the government to help Kenyans.

“The disaster is bigger than Eric Omondi. I appreciate what he’s doing but if he can’t work with the government, he can’t make a difference. If you look at what he is doing by going to one place when the floods are all over Kenya, it is good that he is uniting with the government even if he is against the government,” Jaguar told journalists.

The comedian announced plans to build an ‘ark’ to help with the current situation.

“We’re initiating what we’re calling the Noah’s Ark. We’re gathering all the benevolent carpenters and we want to finish it within a week. Given our lack of trust in the government, we’re preparing for possible disasters; we’re on our own,” he explained in an interview with Silva Kido.

In an Instagram update, Omondi elaborated:

“His motorised ‘sisi kwa sisi’ ark will reach victims in the remotest parts of Kenya to save lives and deliver food, clothing and medicine. Get ready!!!”

Last week, Omondi travelled by boat to the Athi River area, documenting his efforts in videos as he helped people trapped in their flooded homes.

“There are families stuck on the rooftops and time is ticking… We have saved 34 people today from 8:30am to 11am and there are still hundreds stuck with children and disaster could strike at any time! Last night we rescued a woman and 3 of her children in Ruiru’s OJ region. Our priorities are upside down,” he wrote on Instagram.

The comedian said he quit entertainment to rescue needy Kenyans.
