Raila to join Uhuru in marking Madaraka Day

National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, will on Thursday join President Uhuru Kenyatta in marking Madaraka Day in Nyeri County.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday at Orange House in Nairobi, Mr Odinga said that the day is an important one in the political calendar of Kenya and so he would join other Kenyans to mark it.

“Madaraka Day is a very important day in our political calendar and we celebrate it whenever and wherever we are. Tomorrow (Thursday) we are going to celebrate it in Nyeri with all Kenyans. We wish everybody else a very happy Madaraka Day,” said Mr Odinga.

He was speaking after receiving a delegation of politicians from Nakuru County led by former Nakuru TNA chairman Peter Njuguna who decamped from Jubilee Party to Nasa.
