Rapper Octopizzo unveils ancestral museum honoring late dad
Celebrated Kenyan recording and performing artist Octopizzo has left netizens in awe after revealing the inauguration of a family ancestry museum in his home village, Siaya County dedicated to honoring the memory of his late father.
The Grammy Award nominee took to social media to share the news, posting several photos from the grand opening of the museum.
In a heartfelt statement, Octopizzo expressed the significance of constructing the small memorial house, named ‘The Onyango Ohanga Museum.
“The Onyango Ohanga Museum.
Embarking on a poignant journey, we unveil the ancestral museum honoring the legacy of my father. A tribute to his life,” announced the rapper.
Octopizzo emphasised his motivation behind the museum project.

He said that he wanted to create a space where his children and future generations could reconnect with their roots, learning about the individuals who came before them and understanding the origins of their existence.
“This museum stands as a beacon of remembrance and a living archive, preserving our family’s rich history for generations to come. A place where stories echo and memories breathe, ensuring our children and great-grandchildren connect with their roots,” read a portion of Octopizzo’s post.
Addressing the public, Octopizzo extended an invitation to visit the museum saying its accessibility to everyone.
While he did not specify whether there would be any admission charges, he encouraged interested individuals to seek more information at the Ligega Chief’s Office.
“For visitors, check in at the Ligega Chiefs Office for more info. Open to Public & Educational institutions. #DON 🐐,” concluded the rapper in his post.

The move by Octopizzo has garnered praise from netizens, commending him for immortalising his lineage while also potentially creating an opportunity to generate revenue through visitors.
In a past post, Octopizzo said that he learned all about his fashion sense from his late father.
His late dad also introduced him to music.
