Relief for city motorists as fuel prices drop
Nairobi motorists will now buy fuel at a reduced price after the energy regulator announced the new prices on Wednesday.
Super petrol dropped by Sh 9.13 to retail at Sh 92.88 while diesel dropped by Sh 7.50 to retail at Sh 83.35.
The reduction will also see city dwellers who use Kerosene for cooking and lighting benefit as it will also reduce by Sh 6.78 to retail at Sh 65.59.
The Energy Regulatory Committee while announcing the new prices stated that this was the lowest the prices have dropped since its formation four years ago.
The drop was influenced by a reduction in the price of imported fuel along with the exchange rates.
The new prices will be operational till February 14 when the regulator will announce the new pump prices.
