Reps on the offensive against Kidero’s top five officials

City County Reps have hatched a plot  to  have five top officials in Governor Evans Kidero’s government sacked.

The Reps, drawn from Cord and Jubilee coalitions, expressed frustration by the County executive and cited five members as their biggest stumbling block in their legislative agenda.

Those targeted are Mr Gregory Mwakanongo (Finance Executive member), Mr Jimmy Kiamba (Finance Chief Officer), Mr Evans Ondiek (Roads and Transport Executive member), Ms Christine Ogut (Roads and Transport chief officer) and County Secretary Ms Lillian Ndegwa.

Volatile session

Last week, Deputy Speaker Ken Ng’ondi chaired a volatile session as angry MCAs pushed for adjournment of the House business to discuss the challenges they were facing in implementation of the Wards Development Fund Act.

Majority leader Elias Otieno (Kileleshwa, ODM) and Leader of the Minority Abdi Guyo (Spring Valley Matopeni, TNA) rallied members in denouncing the five officials.

“We have started the war to kick out the five before we are voted out for lack of development. We cannot wait longer for things to work here,” said Mr Guyo.

Mr Otieno said the MCAs’ rage was because action on development matters was affecting them politically.

Deputy minority leader Patrick Ngaruiya (Kahawa West, TNA) added that they were under siege.

“People want to see things happening. It is almost one and a half years since the elections but things are slow. We believe these people are sabotaging the governor,” he said.

Dandora 2 Rep Stephen Kambi  and his Ziwani counterpart Millicent Mugadi said Dr Kidero would suffer because of the failure of his officers.
