Sober up! Cotu boss Atwoli tells Uhuru – VIDEO
Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has called for sobriety from President Uhuru Kenyatta over the ruling of the presidential election petition.
Atwoli spoke in Nairobi on Sunday to address the apparent attack the Supreme Court has been subjected to from leaders of the Jubilee Party since Friday’s landmark ruling nullifying President Kenyatta’s election victory.
“I’m appealing to His Excellency the president to be a little bit sober. Sober up. Because even the way hes is addressing the public he appears not sober. He should be himself,” Atwoli said while addressing the media.
“If I was President Uhuru Kenyatta, today I would still be thinking what to do. Not hit the road immediately. You will make a lot of mistakes in the process and even people who voted for you will change their minds.”
ASSURED VOTE
But perhaps to soften his blow on Mr Kenyatta, the fiery trade unionist also assured the president that he voted for him and will continue doing so.
“You still have a large following in Kenya. Sober up, you have your supporters, Raila (Odinga) has his supporters, prepare your troops well. Some of us were born voters, we will come and vote for you, we have no alternative,” Atwoli said.
“I am appealing to our president he should not be emotional, he should not be irrational and he has no moral authority to fire and to lush at the learned Judges, if he himself appealed to Kenyans that he will accept the result,” he added.
