Some truths in life are hard to accept – Risper Faith’s emotional tribute to dad

Socialite and businesswoman Risper Faith bid a tearful farewell to her late father, Professor Alfred Wanyama Manyonge, at his funeral held in their rural home in Bungoma on Saturday, December 9.

The grieving daughter shared an emotional moment during the burial, expressing her feelings on social media.

“I’m numb, but it’s well… Rest easy my dear father,” Risper Faith wrote alongside poignant photos capturing the somber occasion.

Her late father was a respected Maseno University professor specialising in the School of Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science.

In an obituary released by the family, they expressed deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will, announcing the untimely demise of Prof. Alfred Wanyama Manyonge on November 19, 2023, at Lifecare Hospital in Bungoma after a brief illness.

Prof. Manyonge is survived by his wife, Pamela Abinyi Manyonge, and their children Carol, Kevin, Risper, Alfred Jr., Sarah, Barbara, Celina, and Nasimiyu.

He is also remembered as the brother to the late Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Teresa Nasambu, and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The burial service occurred in Bungoma County on Saturday, December 9, where family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to pay their respects to the departed professor.

Risper Faith, known for her glamorous lifestyle, opened up about the pain of losing her father on social media, saying, “Losing a father like you is hard to process.”

In a heartfelt message, she continued to express her love and admiration for her late father. “We will always miss you, my hero, my mentor, and mostly a father. The hardest goodbyes are the ones you don’t see coming, but we have to accept because the Lord was there. Continue to shine with the angels. I find it harder to say goodbye because you will remain in my heart forever.”
