South Koreans in Nairobi protest missile programme

South Koreans living in Nairobi on Thursday evening denounced North Korea’s recent launch of a long-range missile.

They also called on their northern neighbour to give up its nuclear programme.

“Our people and the international community strongly condemn the long-range missile launch and the fourth nuclear test by Kin Jong-Un,” Ambassador Young Dae Kwon said.

The diplomat called on the United Nations security council to pass strong sanctions against North Korea to deter them from the nuclear programme.

North Korea had last month launched a long-range rocket called Kwangmyongsong-4 that drew renewed international condemnation.

Washington, among others world powers, said the launch of the missile violated UN resolutions.
