Kenyan R&B sensation Ethan Muziki rebrands as ‘Kethan’


Kenyan R&B star Ethan Muziki, born Ethan Edwards Okoth, has embarked on a transformative journey, redefining his artistic identity and embracing a new stage name: ‘Kethan’.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter, hailed as one of Kenya’s finest musical talents, announced the name change as a symbolic step towards greater authenticity and artistic growth.

In a heartfelt message to his fans, Kethan expressed his deep reflection on his musical journey and the desire to embody a name that reflects his unique essence as an artist.

“Over the past few months, I’ve been reflecting deeply on my journey as a musician and the identity I want to embody through my art,” he shared.

“Today, I’m excited to announce that I will be transitioning to a new artist name: Kethan.”

The decision to adopt the new moniker stems from Kethan’s belief that it aligns more closely with his evolving artistic vision and aspirations.

“I’ve come to realize that having a name that’s uniquely mine will be beneficial in my steps towards greater heights; continentally and globally,” he explained.

He expressed his gratitude for their encouragement throughout this transformative process.

“Your love for my music has inspired me beyond words, and I am endlessly grateful for each connection we’ve made,” he acknowledged.

Kethan reassured his fans that the essence of their community remains steadfast, promising to continue sharing his soul through his music.

“Our community as Ethanals remains and is continuing to grow,” he said.

In an interview, he discussed his former stage name, Ethanals.

“This was a name chosen by my community, my fan base, and it’s something we selected together. I even released an album titled Ethanal Fire.”

Before venturing into a solo career, he was part of a boy band called Jadi under the King Kaka empire.

Ethan has collaborated with artists such as Bridget Blue, the Watendawili group, and Brandy Maina, among others.
