Rowdy students hurl insults at Matiang’i, Amina in shocking video

Not even a threat by Education CS Amina Mohammed that undisciplined students will have their criminal records put on their education certificates could shake a group of Form Four students in Siaya County.

In a video that is widely circulating on social media, several KCSE candidates at Ambira High School in Siaya County are seen hurling insults at Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i and his Education counterpart Amina Mohamed.

The students, who had just completed their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination went on a tirade, hurling unprintable words to the two cabinet secretaries as they celebrated clearing their exam.

In the video, the students, who did not conceal their identities, even claim that they stole the exam. They, however, did not offer any evidence.

Shule huisha, masomo huisha,” the students shout amidst cheers.

Surprisingly, this happens while the students are still in the school compound and appear to have set their books and other reading materials ablaze.

The Nairobi News cannot publish the 29-second video for legal reasons. The video has been shared widely on Twitter.

It remains unclear whose phone the students were using, since the Ministry outlawed use of mobile phones by students in schools.

Dr Matiang’i, whose docket played an integral role in ensuring that candidates did not cheat in the exams, is a former Education CS  responsible for far-reaching reforms in the ministry.
