Kenyans will not recognise, remember you in 2027 – Miguna tells President Ruto
Renowned lawyer Miguna Miguna has warned that in 2027 and beyond Kenyans will not recognise, remember or be impressed by President William Ruto.
In a post on X, Miguna shared that instead, they will remember only their hunger, poverty, increased unemployment, and corruption rates.
He said, “I can assure you that in 2027 and beyond, Kenyans will not remember, recognize or be impressed by @WilliamsRuto’s eloquence, frequent foreign trips or Kaunda suits. They will remember only their hunger, poverty, unemployment and the cascading astronomical scale of corruption. Don’t ever say I didn’t warn you.”

Arguably, Kenyans have been lamenting not only about the increased taxation brought about by President Ruto but also his increased foreign trips, which are paid by taxpayers’ money.
Miguna, an ardent supporter of President Ruto’s administration has not shied from calling him out when need be.
For instance, on the issue of economic growth Miguna claimed that the Kenya Kwanza administration would not transform the lives of Kenyans and improve the living standards unless it liberated itself from loans from World Bank and IMF.
“Unless this happens, the TRILLIONS being collected from our taxes and being fraudulently borrowed will continue to be DIVERTED for PERSONAL USE by the mentally and ideologically colonized occupiers of public office – whether elected or appointed,” he said.
Additionally, on the issue of the importation of genetically modified organisms (GMO) Miguna criticised President Ruto’s administration, terming the decision as ‘reckless and irresponsible.’
He wrote, “I say a firm NO to the mad rush to import GMO Maize and other foods to Kenya. I believe that it’s irresponsible and amounts to recklessness on the part of the Kenya Kwanza government. Such national policy shifts should be preceded by wide national consultations and debates!”

Miguna, who had been exiled in Canada since 2018, returned to the country on October 20, 2022 after President Ruto was sworn in as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya.
The controversial lawyer-cum-politician was forced into exile for his participation in the mock swearing-in of ally-turned-foe Raila Odinga as the “people’s president” after the bitterly disputed presidential election of 2017.
