Six in court over purchase of CJ Mutunga Sh300m Runda house

Six former tender committee officials at the judiciary have been charged with abuse of office in procuring Chief Justice Willy Mutunga’s official residence at a cost of Sh300 million.

The six, Wycliffe Wanga, Nicholas Mbeba, Thomas Atak, Benedict Omollo, Martin Okwata and Francis Kakai Kisinger, denied the charge.

Their co-accused former chief registrar Gladys Shollei will take a plea on August 24. She is currently outside the country.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission had recommended for the prosecution of the six.
