By JAMES KARIUKI November 14th, 2015 1 min read

The World Public Relations Conference on Emerging Economies starts tomorrow at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi Information Principal Secretary Joseph Tiampati said Friday.

Mr Tiampati said Kenya would use the opportunity to improve its image by engaging the public relations practitioners from around the world.

The event will discuss ways of integrating PR and communication strategies in promoting innovation, particularly within emerging economies.

The Public Relations Society of Kenya — sponsored by the government — has also attracted members of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.

“As an emerging economy, Kenya will have an important opportunity in hosting the three-day meeting to exchange ideas with globally-acclaimed experts on the best models of effectively incorporating public relations and communication approaches in economic development, small and medium enterprises expansion drive and technological innovations,” Mr Tiampati said.

The PS said the government recognises the role played by public relations.
