Bien credits wife Chiki for solo career success

Sauti Sol’s lead vocalist Bien-Aime Alusa Baraza, popularly known as Bien, has publicly credited his wife, Chiki Kuruka, for the success of his solo career.

The acclaimed artist made the revelation during the release of his latest album, “Alusa Why Are You Topless,” November 17, 2022.

The album, which showcases Bien’s musical prowess, features a variety of tracks, including a highly anticipated collaboration with Scar Mkadinali.

Since its release, the album has rapidly gained traction, going viral across Kenyan music platforms.

In an exclusive interview, Bien spoke about the invaluable lessons he has learned from having his wife manage his music career.

According to the artist, Chiki’s unwavering commitment to his talent has been a driving force behind his success as a solo artist.

“There is no one thing to learn from Chiki; I learn every day. But one thing she has shown me is the commitment to your lover or to someone you are in love with is not just about the romantic things that people want to talk about at the forefront of the relationship,” Bien shared.

“It’s about how much you are willing to go, like right now when I am a solo artist. She has been managing all my things — shoots, my choreography — and I have fallen in love with her again. She has shown me the commitment to my gift in a way that no one has ever shown me before.”

The album’s standout track, ‘True Love,’ was debuted by Bien at the Colours X Studios, further showcasing his ability to captivate audiences with his soulful melodies and meaningful lyrics.

Other notable tunes on the album include ‘My Baby,’ featuring Nigerian singer Ayra Star, ‘Legend,’ ‘Lost and Found,’ and ‘Ma Cherie,’ among others.

The couple, Bien and wife Chiki Kuruka, celebrated 3rd wedding anniversary in March 2023.
