Brazilian Da Silva cleared to join Gor Mahia

Brazilian forward Thiago Lima Da Silva has finally been cleared to play in the Kenyan Premier League.

The South American footballer arrived in the country last week and consequently agreed a deal in principle to link up with his compatriot coach Ze Maria at champions Gor Mahia.

The move has since been okayed by both Football Kenya Federation, the Brazilian FA and Fifa after the 30 year old, was issued with an International Transfer Certificate.

JUNE TRANSFERS

Da Silva, who has previously played in his native and Australia, becomes the first South American player to feature in the KPL and could make his debut this weekend when Gor Mahia play Tusker in the return leg of the Top 8 tournament semi finals.

Other stand out activities confirmed by FKF at the half way point of the June transfer window include Kenya international Tony Nyangor’s return to the KPL following a short stint at Tanzania’s Coastal Union. The lanky forward has signed for Ushuru FC.

Another Kenya international Kevin Kimani, formerly at Tusker FC, has also had his transfer to relegated South African club Jomo Cosmos terminated by mutual consent.
