Can we trust police to be judges and prosecutors?

April 7th, 2014 1 min read

The last time I read the law, a suspected criminal was presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Why is it then that rather than arrest four suspected robbers so that they may have their day in court, on Saturday our police officers chose to gun them down.

If the public mood calling for the killing of anyone suspected to be a criminal is anything to go by, Kenyans have given up faith in the judicial process.

However, can our policemen be trusted to be both prosecutors and judges?
