A second video has emerged online capturing thye dramatic the moment when a police officer in plain clothes executed a suspect in broad daylight.
Shockingly, the video shows the police officer constantly receiving instructions from his walkie-talkie radio presumably on how to deal with the suspect.
The clip, shot by a matatu passenger who was nearer to the scene of shooting, captures the yet to be identified police officer consulting on the radio before pumping several bullets on the suspect.
Nairobi News cannot publish the video due to its graphic content.
On Saturday, Police Spokesman Charles Owino condemned the video doing rounds in social media of police shooting a civilian in cold blood.
He said he could not give a conclusive statement about the incident as the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett has ordered a probe into the matter.
Nairobi County Police Commander Japheth Koome on Saturday justified the killing of the unarmed man in Eastleigh in broad daylight.
The Independent Policing Oversight Authority on Saturday said it had started investigations “and if there is culpability, ensure those responsible face the full force of the law.”
Mr Koome was later quoted in other media as saying that the viral video was acted, with Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet taking a more diplomatic tone.
The two slain men according to comments on social media, are well-known armed robbers who have been terrorising Eastleigh and have been linked to the dreaded Gaza gang.
