Did Raila use Ruto’s chopper during recent Suba visit?

Before being elected president, Dr William Ruto would fly on a famous chopper.

The multi-coloured helicopter was synonymous with his campaigns.

The president would visit different towns using the chopper with some reports indicating he owned it.

It has white, yellow, red and black colours.

Soon after his election in August 2022, the Head of State switched to a military helicopter which is a requirement for the president to use.

He still uses the military chopper.

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga is also known for using helicopters when going to political rallies.

His last rally was in Suba South in Homa Bay County on Sunday where he went to three areas while drumming up support for his party and the election of party national chairman John Mbadi who is seeking election in Suba South in 2027.

Mr Odinga used a helicopter similar to the one that the Head of State would use when he served as the Deputy President.

The helicopter with registration number 5Y-DCS landed at Victoria Sand Resort in Suba North for a party delegates meeting.

Most people at the meeting did not notice this.

But social media users immediately identified the helicopter after Nation shared a video of it landing at the venue of the meeting.

“Raila Odinga lands at Suba North in Homa Bay for ODM delegates meeting,” Nation posted on Facebook.

Ngeno Kipngetich said “Hii ni choper Ruto alikuwa anatumia during campaigns. (This is the helicopter that President Ruto was using during campaign).”

Simon Maina also noted that it was the same helicopter that the president would use before being elected.

Kebenei Jonn wrote “Allah on president chopper.”

Nobert Murgor was also surprised saying “ni kama hii ndege ni ya Ruto (it seems this is President Ruto’s helicopter.”

After an ugly exchange of words in public leading to countrywide protests, President Ruto and Mr Odinga have appeared to close ranks in recent times with the government publicly backing the opposition leader’s quest to go for the Africa Union Commision (AUC) chairmanship slot.

The two leaders were also spotted visiting Uganda President Yoweri Museveni at his Kisozi ranch in Kampala last week, a moved that heightened speculatrion on the nature of their relationship.
