Exclusive: Diana Marua and Bahati postpone white wedding to shoot reality show

Popular couple singer Bahati and Diana Marua have postponed their much-anticipated white wedding originally slated for December 12, 2023.

Sources close to the family revealed that the decision to delay the ceremony was made following their traditional wedding held in October.

The couple, known for sharing their love journey with fans, is currently occupied with the filming of a reality show, as disclosed by insider sources to Nairobi News.

The demanding schedule of the reality series is cited as the primary reason for the shift in wedding plans.

In October, Bahati shared a video capturing their traditional ceremony, also known as ruracio.

The post included a heartfelt announcement of the completion of the dowry payment, with Bahati expressing eagerness to formalize their marriage before the official anniversary date on October 20th.

“It’s official, I have finally done @Diana Marua Dowry payment. Our dad Mzee Omach has blessed us to proceed with the wedding arrangement. Diana did not expect this but I was so eager to formalize our marriage before the official anniversary date this coming 20th October. This was a surprise Gift No 5,” Bahati shared.

The couple had initially revealed their wedding date during their engagement, expressing excitement about the forthcoming celebration.

However, their focus on family and commitment to sharing their journey took a spotlight when Diana Marua disclosed in June 2021 that they were not legally married despite their traditional wedding in 2017.

The decision to have a legal union was driven by their desire for their children to witness their parents walking down the aisle, emphasizing the significance of the commitment.

Diana Marua has previously emphasized the importance of maintaining certain aspects of their lives private, stating:

“We are not there for the people; we are public figures. But at the end of the day, we have our own family issues that we keep to ourselves.”
