Exclusive: Mama Akoth – Kenyan women send me crazy messages, I’m so happy!

Content creator Patrick Obayi better known as Mama Akoth has opened up about his relationship status and the nature of messages he receives from his fans.

The actor, who has gained fame for his imitation of responses by Kenyan women, especially wives to their husbands’, says some of the messages are quite fascinating.

In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Obayi said many women have been hitting on him.

“My DM is packed but exciting. I am so happy. They say single people are the happiest,” he said.

While content creation makes him happy, Obayi says that if and when he gets into a relationship, he will still make content for his fans.

“I usually shoot my videos at night because my days are very packed with my daily hustle. Although it can be tiring after a long day’s work, shooting helps me relax,” he explained.

For all the jibes he directs at Kenyan women, Obayi says he would not consider marrying in another country because the energies would not match up.

“Kenyan women you are awesome. I love the fact that Kenyan women are unique and plain. They do not mask,” he says.

The content creator also said he often watches through some of the videos and laughs at how hilarious the responses were as he questions himself how he came up with the answer.

“Sometimes I feel the response I gave was not that funny but when I see the response in the comment section word for word as it is in the video, I burst into laughter.”

Just like many Kenyan content creators, Obayi started out at the Kenya National Theatre, although theatre no longer appeals to him.

“I’m not so much of a theatre person. I did that a lot in my campus and high school days but now I do not feel like I am suited for theatre,” he said.
