EXCLUSIVE: Why Chipukeezy prefers polygamy

Renowned comedian Vincent Mwasia, popularly known as Chipukeezy, recently weighed in on relationships, shedding light on why he chooses not to embrace monogamy.

In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Chipukeezy unreservedly expressed his belief that one wife alone is not sufficient to fulfill his personal aspirations.

Chipukeezy hails from a family where polygamy is deeply rooted.

According to him, his father set the precedent by marrying seven wives and maintaining a harmonious and supportive relationship with each one of them.

Drawing inspiration from this family tradition and the societal acceptance of polygamy, Chipukeezy is considering embracing the same lifestyle.

“It would work well for any African. Love is very private. We need to be very open about some things. I am from a polygamous peaceful family, and I want to follow in my father’s footsteps.

What is this that would work best for us? I see some of my friends who claim to be monogamous but they are spending so much time with different women in secrecy.

They should consider marrying two women. There is a conversation that we need to have because most of our men are not faithful,” he expressed candidly.

In the course of the interview, Chipukeezy also touched on his interactions with women on social media, emphasizing the importance of respectful admiration.

“My DM is lit, and sometimes, I also slide into beautiful girls’ DMs just to appreciate their beauty, not necessarily to pursue them romantically. There is one girl who I am pursuing, but she has not responded to my message.”

Chipukeezy has learned valuable lessons from his past experiences with public relationships.

He recalled two relationships that he openly shared with the public a few years ago, admitting that he didn’t fully grasp the significance of privacy when it came to his personal life.

“It is never that serious. I was just a naïve village boy enjoying love in the public by posting someone who I was in love with. But I realized that social media had an impact. We have celebrity friends who maintain beautiful family lives away from the limelight, and I might never publicly share my love life again.”
