Heartbreaking loss: Nadia Nakai’s emotional tribute to AKA
South African rapper and actress Nadia Nakai, has penned a heart-wrenching tribute to her late boyfriend, Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA, just a day after his burial.
In the tribute, Nakai confesses how they had planned a perfect future for their relationship before AKA’s life was tragically cut short.
The couple had been dating for months and even got matching tattoos as proof of their love for each other.

However, their plans for a future together were not to be, as AKA was killed outside a Durban eatery on February 10th with his long-time friend, Tebello Tibz Motsoane.
In her tribute, Nakai pours out her heart, expressing her pain at the loss of her beloved.
She shares how AKA loved her loudly and proudly, protecting her, praying for her, and inspiring her. She cannot fathom a future without him and cannot believe she said her final goodbye to him.
Nakai says, “There is no pain bigger than the pain of losing you. I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with you. I realize you’re the one who spent the rest of your life with me.”
The tragedy of AKA’s death and the loss of their future together has left Nakai questioning God. She wonders why He would bring them together only to take him away. She admits that she doesn’t know how to go on without him.
“I’ll never see you again for the rest of my lifetime. You loved me loud and proud. Thank you, baby. Protected me, Prayed for me, and inspired me.
“I find it hard to breathe, let alone find the words to explain how much I love you.
“I’m really going to miss all the special moments we’ve had. This really hurts!
“I can’t come to terms with the fact that I’ll never hear you say you love me. I’ll never hear your laugh.
“We had plans.”
Nadia Nakai’s emotional tribute is a touching reminder of the pain of losing a loved one. It highlights the importance of treasuring our time with those we love and cherishing our memories.
In her tribute, she added, “I realise you’re the one who spent the rest of your life with me. I don’t know why things happen the way they do, but I’m now questioning God. Why would he bring us together to only take you away? I just don’t understand. I don’t know how I’m going to do this, going on with my life without you, I just can’t.”
