‘Most painful goodbye…’ parents’ tribute to daughter killed in Christmas accident
Tears on Monday, January 2, 2022, flowed freely during the burial of Ms. Daisy Barongo Binyanya, who died on December 24, 2022, in a grisly road accident along the Narok- Bomet highway.
Ms. Barongo died alongside her cousin Mr. Clinton Maosa Obwocha 25, while they were traveling to their rural home in Nyamira town, Nyamira County.
They were all laid to rest together on the same day following a decision that was made by the family.
Mourners, relatives, and friends who attended the burial praised the late as they described her as an obedient girl.

Ms. Rose Kwamboka Binyanya, the mother to Ms. Barongo mourned her daughter as she described her as a pillar in the family.
“I may lack words to say. My daughter, you were understanding, honest, a good friend, a confidant, and hardworking. You were the spokeslady in our family and a pillar of strength. We cherish all the moments that we shared,” Ms. Kwamboka’s tribute read in full.
Her father, Mr. Samuel Binyanya the father of Ms. Barongo said that he will really miss his daughter.
“Sadly enough, the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained, rest in peace,” Mr. Binyanya in his tribute said.

It is worth noting that Mr. Binyanya was the last person in the family to speak to his daughter when she informed her that she was traveling home.
Ms. Daisy a week before the accident graduated from the Technical University of Kenya with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture Engineering.
Her dad told Nairobi News, in an exclusive interview with this reporter, said, “I asked her whether she had the money for lunch and she said she did not. I then sent her Sh1,000 to her and that was the last conversation I had with my daughter.”

He said that he then asked the mother to prepare a meal for the daughter which she agreed as she also wanted to have time with the lady who had just graduated a week ago.
Ms. Rose Kwamboka Binyanya spent the better part of that day in the kitchen preparing meals for her firstborn daughter who the parents say was honest and very hardworking.
But her arrival was not to be she lost her life in a freak accident that also took the life of her cousin, Clinton Maosa Obwocha, 25.
