Houses destroyed as huge fire razes city slum – PHOTOS
Property of unknown value was destroyed on Thursday night after a huge fire razed houses in a city slum.
The fire, which started at around 8pm, destroyed more that 100 iron sheet houses located along Waiyaki way, near Loresho Springs.
No one was injured during the incident according to the police.
The fire was eventually put off by the Nairobi City County fire brigade after almost two hours as the owners of the property stared helplessly.
The fire brought the busy highway to a standstill as evening commuters made their way home.
Affected residents blamed the fire fighters for taking too long to get to the destination.
