The anticipation for Kenya’s Jamhuri Day celebration has soared to unprecedented levels with a star-studded lineup featuring internationally acclaimed Kenyan-Israeli singer Gilad Millo and the legendary Kenyan artist Nazizi Hirji.

Jamhuri Day, commemorating Kenya’s independence has become synonymous with unity, culture, and celebration.

This year’s event promises to be even more special as Gilad Millo, known for his soulful performances and cross-cultural musical fusion, takes center stage.

Gilad, who has captured hearts with hits like “Unajua” and “Sema Milele,” expressed his excitement about the upcoming performance, stating, “Kenya is my home, and it’s an honor to be part of such a significant celebration. I can’t wait to share the joy of music with everyone on this special day.”

During the Jamhuri Day preparations, Gilad Millo, known for his soulful melodies and cross-cultural musical fusion, will take center stage at the iconic Uhuru Park for this year’s festivities.

Adding to the excitement is the inclusion of Nazizi, hailed as the First Lady of Kenyan Hip-Hop, renowned for her dynamic performances and genre-defying style.

The celebration promises an array of cultural performances, traditional dances, and patriotic displays, with Gilad Millo and Nazizi set to deliver performances that showcase the vibrancy of Kenya’s musical heritage.

As the nation gears up for this grand event, the synergy between Gilad’s Afro-pop and Israeli influences and Nazizi’s genre-defying sounds is expected to create an unforgettable celebration of Kenya’s independence, culture, and unity at Jamhuri Day 2023.

In October, Gilad revealed that his two children, a son and daughter, have joined the Israel Defense Forces in battling Hamas fighters after a deadly insurgence that left over 1,000 Israelis dead.

In November, the artist took to his social media platforms to share a heartfelt message.

In the aftermath of the tragic events on October 7th in Israel, he conveyed the profound impact on his life, family, and fellow citizens.

Describing an unprecedented darkness and profound sadness, he expressed the unique and overwhelming fear experienced by Jews in the current global climate.

“We need your prayers more than ever, at least more than I have known in my lifetime. I appreciate you and will continue to keep you and yours, together with all of Kenya, in my daily prayers. Much love, Gilad,” he said.
