Kenyan woman dies in tragic Brisbane road accident
A Kenyan woman died on Thursday, February 8, 2023, following a grisly road accident that took place in Brisbane Australia.
The accident that took place in the South of Wales claimed the life of the yet-to-be-identified woman who had barely stayed in the country for a year.
Limited personal information has been disclosed about the woman, but authorities have publicly revealed that her original home residence is located in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County.
The 21-year-old woman died while she was heading to work and she was travelling as a passenger in one of the motor vehicles that crashed head-on. She was in a Hyundai Elantra.
International media outlets have reported a tragic incident involving a Hyundai Elantra, which veered across lanes into oncoming traffic, resulting in a collision with a Holden Colorado utility vehicle. Regrettably, the collision led to fatalities, including the driver of the Hyundai Elantra.
According to Kenyans based in South Australia, the lady left Kenya for the country after landing a lucrative job.
“It is with profound shock and disbelief that we announce the untimely demise that occurred on February 7, 2024, in Brisbane where she had gone to work. She was involved in a road accident and she died on the spot,” the announcement read in part.
Currently, Kenyans abroad and in the country are being requested to help the family so that the body can be repatriated back as burial plans go on.
Authorities are not willing to share her name or make it public before the immediate members of the family have been informed.
The incident that claimed the life of the woman took place just three weeks after two Kenyan students died following a road crash after their vehicle hit a tree.
Police in the foreign country said that the duo which hails from Nandi County was racing and that they died on the spot after their car burst into flames.
