Larry Madowo meets man who drove from Nairobi to Portugal in 6 months


CNN Journalist Larry Madowo recently shared photos of his unexpected encounter with a Kenyan driver on a remarkable global tour for the past six months.

Madowo took to Twitter to share their delightful moments during their meeting.

The driver, Kim Musau, garnered attention and excited Kenyans after embarking on an extraordinary journey from Kenya to Portugal.

Musau’s adventure began in Kenya, where he set off in his Land Rover.

He drove through various countries, following the coastline from Namibia to Morocco.

Upon reaching Morocco, Musau boarded a ferry to Spain before eventually arriving in Portugal, where he crossed paths with Larry Madowo.

Larry Madowo, a prominent CNN journalist, expressed his joy at meeting Musau in Portugal in a statement on Sunday.

He shared his excitement on Twitter, saying, “Ran into a Kenyan car in Portugal! Kim Musau has been on the road for 6 months.

He left Nairobi and drove down to Namibia, then along the coastline to Morocco, ferry to Spain and now he’s here. Are you not jealous?”

Musau diligently kept his social media followers updated on his adventures throughout his journey.

He acknowledged that his solo exploration had its challenges but emphasized the fulfillment it brought him.

“This solo exploration hasn’t been easy. My pockets are empty but my heart is full,” he shared.

Musau also provided advice to motorists inspired by his awe-inspiring journey.

He emphasized the need for commitment, stating that achieving such a feat required more than 20 hours of relentless driving daily.

As his journey continued, Musau expressed his desire to explore more of Europe before eventually returning to Nairobi, Kenya.
