Lovy Longomba laments ‘heroes of faith’ tarnishing his name
American based Congolese-Kenyan Prophet Lovy Elias Longomba is a man with a downtrodden heart. In a statement he issued on Thursday, April 4, 2024, he lamented facing trials in the form of his name being tarnished since abandoning his secular life and serving the Lord as a religious leader.
In his statement, he claimed that he was facing his name being tarnished by people he looked up to as “heroes of faith, including fathers” who were misusing his name to their own benefit.
“In my few years of serving the Lord Jesus Christ, I have come to understand that even those whom you look up to, your heroes of faith, including fathers, can quickly try to tarnish you for clicks and likes in this day and age. Nevertheless, love them and honor them, remembering they are only human and are not beyond mistakes. Never repay evil with evil, but rather let love always lead the way, or else you become like them in your season,” said Prophet Lovy.
He did not name the heroes of faith or fathers who had tarnished his name but his congregants and followers commiserated with him, encouraging him to focus on God and the work he was called to do.
Lovy Longomba was a renowned singer who was half the band of the Longombas before his brother passed on. They dominated the Kenyan music scene with danceable hit songs one after the other including Shika More, Vuta Pumz, Piga Makofi, Dondosa and Queen.
The duo relocated to the United States of America from Kenya without much fanfare where they went to achieve greater things in music at international levels. In that time, Lovy worked with American musicians including Iggy Azalea, Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo, Chris Brown, K Michelle and Tinie Tempa as well as spent time with a handful of other megastar secular singers including Swae Lee in the studio.
In 2013, Prophet Lovy embarked on his journey as a Christian faithful before he emerged as a leader in the church. According to his bio, the Lord visited him in a vision when he was 6-years-old and showed him that he would be used of God and sent to nations, especially a place surrounded by mountains.
A mountainous region, Prophet Lovy later set up his Revelation Church of Jesus Christ in Woodland Hills in California and today, it stands in Simi Valley, California.
