Magic App where air travellers can get eight crucial services at a go

Now travellers in Kenya can get everything they need for their travel needs in one app.

AfroAtlas, the first travel aggregator in Eastern and Central Africa in partnership with Lufthansa airlines has launched a magic App where customers can get eight crucial services at a go.

Through the new distribution capability (NDC) platform, customers have access to services such as buying flight tickets, hotel booking, airport transfers, tour booking, travel insurance, car rentals, holiday packages and visa facilitations in their comfort zone.

The partnership aims to reduce the time taken by customers to browse from one website after another to find different services.

Afro Atlas Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ahmed Ugas said the platform intends to change how travel products are distributed in the continent and how travel agencies operate especially start-up agencies as they strive to embed technology in their operations to make work more efficient and easier.

“We are very happy to launch Lufthansa Group NDC for the Eastern Africa market. This is part of our continuous efforts to offer the latest technologies to our travel partners in Africa and beyond,” said Mr Ugas.

“This partnership will greatly benefit customers. Most of the major airlines around the world are now adopting this kind of technology. We are committed to shaping the regional travel industry with distribution and innovation” said Mr Ugas.

As a participant in Lufthansa’s NDC Partner Program, AfroAtlas will get access to the airline’s branded fares, bundles, ancillary product offerings and price offers.

On the other hand, Melford Ndungu from the Lufthansa Group highlighted that NDC enhances communication between airlines and travel agents as well as other market players and helps airlines to control their offer to facilitate product differentiation, time-to-market, access to full and rich travel content.
