Mama Rachel Ruto awarded the KISS Humanitarian award
Kenya’s First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto, has been bestowed with the KISS Humanitarian Award at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Bhubaneswar, India.
The award organizers say the recognition ‘comes as a testament to her unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable communities through various initiatives spanning financial inclusion, climate action, livelihoods, and education’.
Ms Ruto took to her social media platforms to share her acceptance speech and reaffirmed her dedication to championing the rights and well-being of those in need, highlighting the importance of her ongoing efforts to uplift marginalized sections of society.
“I am incredibly honored to receive the prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award for 2022. This honor is a tribute to the resilience and spirit of the Kenyan people, especially our remarkable women,” she wrote.
“As our world faces unprecedented challenges, we must unite and share our resources to build a better future for all/ I pledge to continue working for the wellbeing of women, children, and vulnerable groups through our financial inclusion, education, livelihoods, and climate action initiatives.
