Manhunt launched for rowdy youth who attacked passenger bus in Kajiado

The police are searching for a group of rowdy youth who on Monday attacked a bus driver and passengers along Kajiado-Mashuuru road.

The youth, who were armed with crude weapons, smashed the vehicle’s windows as they harassed innocent passengers inside the bus.

According to Kajiado County Commissioner, Steve Nyakundi, the bus driver, who has been identified as Mr Peter Mulinge, sustained serious injuries  during the incident and he is fighting for his life at the Mashuuru County Hospital.

Some passengers also lost their valuable during the attack.

Mr Nyakundi also hinted that the attack may have been planned by rival matatu operators who don’t want other Public Service Vehicles to operate in the area.

He said that the police are pursuing possible leads to apprehend the culprits.

“This is a new route and it is open to the public, anyone is free to operate and do business. Investigations have started and we shall take action to those involved in the attack,” he said.
