Matata’s hit song ‘Not Today’ makes the playlist of EA Sports FC 24 video game

Kenyan music group Matata is celebrating another achievement after their track Not Today was added to the official soundtrack playlist of the upcoming EA Sports FC 24 video game. EA Sports FC, which was formerly known as Fifa, is due for release on September 29, 2023.

Other international artistes on the soundtrack include Major Lazer, Major League DJz featuring Brenda Fassie and Stormzy.

“Dreams do come true and ours has become a reality. This achievement is beyond any plans we had for our music. We are still in disbelief!,” Matata said on social media following the announcement.

Not Today, is a reggae dancehall track from Matata’s successful debut album Super Morio. The song features Liam Bailey, a reggae artiste from the UK.

To be featured on the EA Sports platform is indeed a significant achievement and highlights the group’s growing influence beyond the continent.

Their unique and captivating artistry, which resonates with fans around the world, has led to this exciting collaboration that will further extend their reach.

The group, which was founded in 2016 in Norway, where the members were studying, comprises Marcus Ojiambo, Ken Kimathi, Richie Mathu, Freddie Milanya and Festus Mwenda.

The five group members all knew each other from Kenya, where they had been notable dancers in the Kenyan music industry.

The inclusion of the track on the EA Sports FC 24 soundtrack playlist underlines the video game’s commitment to showcasing diverse musical talent from around the world.
