Njugush puts his Prado on sale following Abel Mutua’s diss

Comedian Njugush appears to have taken filmmaker Abel Mutua’s recent banter about his car seriously, as reports suggest that Njugush has put his Toyota Prado TX up for sale.

The banter began when Abel Mutua humorously referred to Njugush’s car as a ‘kabati’ in a video that has since gone viral.

In the video, Abel Mutua jokingly commented, “Huyu mnaye muina hapo ni jamaa Timothy Kimani Ndegwa akiendesha wall unit yake safi, akiandamwa unyonyo na Machine …Kabati inaifuata hapo nyuma lakini machine ndio hiyo sasa.”

This translates to “The guy you see here is Timothy Kimani Ndegwa driving his clean wall unit, being followed by a machine… a cabinet follows the machine – a Range Rover Evoque driven by his wife.”

The playful banter seems to have prompted Njugush to list his car for sale.

An X – formerly Twitter – user going by the name Petrolhead and the handle @Mickey0T shared the news on social media, stating, “Kina Abel Mutua wamepiga Njugush banter hadi akawachilia TX bwana. (Abel Mutua teased Njugush until he decided to release the TX).”

According to the details provided, the car is a 2014 Toyota Prado with a 2700cc engine featuring a sunroof and 7 leather seats.

The asking price for Njugush’s well-maintained unit is Sh3.9 million, as revealed by Petrolhead in his tweet.

In a past interview, Njugush shared some humorous insights with Nairobi News, about his car journey, reminiscing about his first car, a blue Nissan Tiida model 2010. He likened the bond with his first car to that of a first girlfriend.

“You know your first car is like your first girlfriend. Due to excitement, I slept in the car for two consecutive nights,” Njugush recalled.
