Olunga on fire for Gor Mahia

Michael Olunga was in a class of his own when he fired in four goals as K’Ogalo beat hosts Chemelil Sugar 4-1 in a mouthwatering Kenyan Premier League match at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru on Saturday.

Following his superb display the youngster moved to the top of the league’s goal scorers’ chart with 11 goals.

“I am so happy we have started the second leg with a big bang. It was a tough match but I thank God we have won as we had promised our coach,” said Olunga.

“When I woke this morning I told my brother Victor Ogada Olunga that I had a feeling I would score many goals today. I dedicate these goals to him, my mum and my entire family for their support,” he added.

SWEET VICTORY

Olunga opened his floodgates in the 36thminute when he fired past goalkeeper Jairus Adira. However, Gor Mahia’s lead was shortlived as Daniel Murage put the sugarmillers back on level terms.

After the break Olunga found the back of the net in the 52nd minute. Seven minutes later, Olunga was on the mark again when he looped past advancing goalkeeper Adira.

Olunga completed his goal haul in the 72nd minute with a powerful volley inside the box.

However, the striker was booked for kicking the ball away while celebrating the goal.

“I am happy for the sweet victory and I hope the boys will sustain the good run in the second leg,” Gor Mahia coach Frank Nuttal said.
