Pastor Kanyari reveals swift burial decision for slain sister, Starlet Wahu – Exclusive

Netizens have taken to social media to express their discontent over the rapid burial of socialite Starlet Wahu, who was tragically murdered on the night of January 4.

Shockingly, Wahu was laid to rest on Saturday, January 6, a mere three days after the gruesome incident, defying the customary week-long mourning period observed among the Kikuyu community.

This departure from tradition has fueled speculation and debate online, especially given the controversial circumstances surrounding Wahu’s untimely death.

Hailing from a highly religious family, where her mother, Prophetess Lucy Nduta, and brother, Pastor Victor Kanyari, are prominent personalities in Kenya, the quick burial has left many questioning the motivations behind the rushed ceremony.

Fans have raised concerns about the family’s apparent desire to avoid public scrutiny, considering the socialite’s extravagant lifestyle and the mysterious circumstances of her demise.

One user, Omwamba, voiced their confusion on social media, stating, “Why was Starlet Wahu buried in less than 72 hours? What was the hurry for???”

Another one, @Achebe_Waweru, penned: “Because keeping the body is outdated and is mainly done by the poor who have to fundraise, etc. Unless there is something like a need for an autopsy, etc, I believe this is the way to go. Africans really like complicating things that need no complication.”

In response to the growing questions, Pastor Kanyari, in a phone interview with Nairobi News, explained the family’s decision to proceed with a swift burial.

“As a family, we decided that it was the best way to mourn our loved one. Again, why the need to keep her yet she is gone forever? No need. We did not want outsiders during her burial. It was very private to the family,” Pastor Kanyari stated, hoping justice for his sister would prevail.

While some families adhere to extended mourning periods and elaborate ceremonies, others, like Starlet Wahu’s, may choose a different approach.

Respecting each decision is crucial for fostering cultural sensitivity and understanding during times of grief.

Meanwhile, as authorities continue their investigation, questions surrounding the motive behind this tragic crime remain unanswered.

Makadara police boss Judith Nyongesa said the police found the girl had bled to death.

“The suspect cut the woman’s vein connecting to the heart which is why she died faster. We could not save her,” she said.
