Pastor Kanyari’s younger sister, Starlet Wahu’s last post before she met her death
A 24-year-old lady identified as Starlet Wahu Mwangi, the younger sister of Prophet Victor Kanyari, met a tragic end in a South B, Nairobi Airbnb apartment.
Industrial Area Police Station apprehended a middle-aged man, John Matara, suspected of her murder.
Starlet Wahu, also known as Icey Wife, was a prominent figure in the beauty world, known for selling designer clothes and shoes.
Her social media posts showcased her vibrant personality, with a particular emphasis on her fashion sense and zest for life.
In her last video post on December 27, she flaunted her stylish figure in an enticing bodycon dress while admiring her wig inside her posh car.
Her online presence reflected a celebration of personal achievements, as seen in her November post sharing her academic success.
“Your bad choices defined you yesterday, but they are not who you are today. Your future doesn’t have to travel the same path with the same people. You can start over,” she affirmed in a November 3, post.
Her dedication to self-improvement was evident in an August post where she expressed feeling great while working on herself.
On December 22, she expressed a Christmas wish for God to continue uplifting her life.
“All I want 4 Xmas is for God to continue making my life better,” she shared.
Wahu’s 21st birthday was marked by the joyous announcement of a sleek ride, a birthday gift from her big brother, Julius.
Grateful for the blessings, she acknowledged feeling undeserving of such generosity.
“So my brother Julius surprised me with a new car today. He said happy early birthday; he will not be around on my 22nd birthday. I am so grateful to him and to God cause honestly, I feel like I do not deserve these blessings,” Wahu wrote.
In an online video, Wahu, dressed in a short red dress, was seen walking alongside a man as they entered an apartment building using the lift.
The next day, law enforcement received a distress call from the building’s manager reporting a murder at the said apartment.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered that the residence had been secured from the outside, prompting them to forcibly enter.
It was during this entry that they uncovered the lifeless body of a young woman sprawled in a pool of blood in the living room.
“We found the woman had bled to death. The victim suffered a swift demise,” shared Judith Nyongesa, Makadara’s police commander, during a press briefing.
Examinations conducted by the police indicated that the victim had bruises and stab wounds on her thighs, suggesting an attempt to exit the house before succumbing to her injuries.
Authorities promptly secured the area, commencing an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Preliminary findings indicated that the duo had rented the apartment for a night out.
Recovered from the scene were various items, notably an HIV testing kit displaying a negative result, indicating prior testing for both individuals.
Additional items found included used condoms, the victim’s clothing, a mobile phone, alcohol, and a knife believed to be the murder weapon.
“The case is still under investigation. We aim to uncover the motive behind this gruesome murder,” Commander Nyongesa stated.
Detectives successfully traced the suspect’s mobile phone to a local hospital in Nairobi, where he was receiving treatment for a stab wound.
The suspect has been apprehended as the police work to determine the motive behind this horrific crime. The investigation remains ongoing.
