Starlet Wahu, also known as Icey Wife, was a prominent figure in the beauty world, known for selling designer clothes, shoes and even human hair.
On Wahu’s 21st birthday in 2021, her brother Julius Mwangi splurged a generous Sh 7.5 million to gift her a pristine snow-white Land Cruiser V8.
Car enthusiasts estimated that the value escalates to over Sh 14 million for the 2018/2019 and 2020 models.
Unfortunately, she did not get the chance to live out her life to the fullest.
Wahu’s lifeless body was discovered in an Airbnb apartment in South B, sending shockwaves through the nation.
The grim discovery was made at Papino’s apartment in South B, where Wahu’s date, John Matara – the main suspect in the heinous crime – had reportedly booked a night stay.
A day later, Matara was later traced to Mbagathi Hospital, where he was receiving treatment for a stab wound.
He has since been arrested and is currently detained at the Industrial Area Police Station for 21 days as investigations unfold.
Preliminary findings suggest that Wahu sustained multiple stab wounds in her thighs, with the ensuing loss of blood proving fatal.
The police also recovered HIV test kits and two condoms, one of which had been used. The motive behind this brutal act remains unknown, leaving investigators and the public baffled.
The tragedy has sparked widespread mourning across the nation, with Kenyans from all walks of life expressing their condolences and calling for justice in the murder case.
