Police shoot dead three suspected gangsters in Dandora

Police in Dandora on Wednesday night shot dead three suspected criminals who were believed to be behind the spate of robberies in Eastlands area.

According to the police the slain suspects have been on their radar for long.

Witnesses said that they heard gunshots only for them to realize that the police were pursuing the suspects.

“I was shocked to learn that those who were killed are guys we know, I never knew that they were thugs,” said Kevin Marube an area resident.

He said that for the last one month more than five suspected gangsters have lost their lives in the estate.

CRIMINAL GANGS

Another resident, who identified two of the robbers as ‘twins’, said she suspected the two to be criminals.

She appealed to the police to beef up security in the area where criminal gangs have been giving them sleepless nights.

“The criminals are young boys but very ruthless, we ask the police to go on with their work and save us,” she said.

Elsewhere, a man who tried to snatch a phone from a lady in Kayole area was lynched by an angry mob.

It is believed that the man is belongs to a group of rogue matatu touts who hang out at various bus stops in Kayole.
