Rachel Ruto asks church to use Hustler Fund in supporting God’s work


Kenyan First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has challenged all believers make good use of Hustler Fund, saying they stand reap profits that will enable them support themselves and God’s work.

Speaking during a church service at Redeemed Gospel Church International in Nairobi, the First Lady said what the government is doing is beneficial for all and no one should be left out.

“I want to encourage us believers to make good use of the Hustler Fund. We should not be left out. If we invest using Hustler Fund, we will be able to get enough income hence supporting the work of God,” Mama Rachel said.

She also said the church should not dispute the initiative as it is aimed at lifting businesses.

Since President William Ruto launched the Hustler Fund on November 30, Kenyans have borrowed Sh1.381 billion from with the number of loans issued currently standing at 2,346,675.

The government on Saturday said 5,191,542 people have since registered for the fund.

According to government data, Kenyans are making approximately 223 loan transactions per second on the digital lending system while Sh48.5 million has since been paid back by loan applicants.

The Hustler Fund is a digital lending system that gives Kenyans access to financing at an 8 per cent pro-rated basis or a daily rate of 0.002 per cent.

Those interested are able to access loans of between Sh500 and a maximum of Sh50,000 individually by dialling a USSD code *254# on their mobile devices from any of the telcos; Safaricom, Airtel and Telcom.
