RIP! Celebrities mourn popular Dubai-based Kenyan spinmaster, DJ Babu


The Kenyan entertainment industry mourns the loss of one of its shining stars, Dubai-based DJ Babu Robespierre, aka DJ Babu, who tragically lost his life in a fatal accident on July 31, 2023.

DJ Babu was celebrated by many as a passionate and talented individual who dedicated himself to his craft and represented Kenya with pride.

Known for his innovative and creative approach to music, he significantly impacted the entertainment scene, both in Dubai and internationally.

Fans and colleagues alike expressed their shock and grief over the sudden demise of the renowned DJ.

Annie Ma Vicky shared a heartfelt condolence, reminiscing about their recent conversation and expressing disbelief over the painful loss.

She posted, “You have gone too soon DJ Babu. Just yesterday I spoke with you, and now you are no more. Can’t believe this. It’s really painful. May your soul rest in eternal peace. A very gentle, kind, and humble man I never met. Why so soon?”

Another fan, Mc Jatugo Kenya, remembered DJ Babu for his recent hosting of Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones during a concert in Dubai over the past weekend.

The news of Babu’s passing left many in shock, as he had been actively involved in the entertainment scene until the fateful accident.

DJ Creme, a friend of Babu, expressed his sorrow over the devastating news.

He referred to Babu as “King” and shared the pain of losing someone he had recently spoken with.

DJ Creme thanked Babu for his positive energy, gigs, and sharing the gift of music with everyone. He bid farewell to his friend, saying, “Fly well, my brother. We shall do this again someday. Rest in peace @djbabudubai. Sitakusahau King.”

DJ Babu was a pioneering figure in the Kenyan music scene, and countless artists, entertainers, and fans will cherish his legacy.

He began his journey as a DJ in late 2008 and established Jamdown Dubai in 2013, where he actively promoted and supported the entertainment industry by creating connections and fostering a vibrant community around music.
