Ruto condoles with the people of Turkey, Syria after following deadly earthquake
President William Ruto has sent messages of condolences to the people of Turkey and Syria following a deadly earthquake that has resulted in the death of thousands of people.
In a brief message on his Twitter account, the President Ruto said Kenya is mourning with the families who have lost loved ones. He also wished all those injured a quick recovery.
“Our hearts go out to the people of Türkiye and Syria following the loss of life caused by the earthquake. We mourn with families who have lost loved ones and wish all those injured a quick recovery,” President Ruto said.

According to the latest update from Al Jazeera, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said death toll from the earthquakes centred in southeastern Turkey has risen to 3,549, bringing the total number of people killed, including those in northern Syria, to more than 5,000.
Other leaders who have sent their messages of comfort to those affected by the earthquake include President Samia Suluhu of Tanzania.
“Heartbreaking news from Türkiye and Syria following the earthquake. On behalf of the Government and the people of Tanzania, I extend my heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time,” President Samia said.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also sent his message of condolences to the families affected by the earthquake.
“I am deeply saddened by the deaths, injuries and loss of property in Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. My thoughts and prayers, and those of all Ugandans, are with the families who have lost their loved ones. May their souls rest in eternal peace,” President Museveni said.

At the same time, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda has similarly sent his message of comfort to the people of Turkey and Syria.
“My deepest condolences to President Erdogan, the people of Türkiye and Syria for the immense loss of life and destruction following the earthquake. The people of Rwanda stand in solidarity with you during this time of sorrow.”
