Scheduled power interruptions to affect two counties on Monday


A move aimed at ensuring the stability and reliability of the power supply network, residents and businesses in Kajiado and Nyeri counties are set to experience scheduled power interruptions on Monday, 29th January 2024.

Commencing at 8:00 A.M. and extending until 5:00 P.M., the scheduled power outage will impact various areas within Kajiado County. Residents and businesses in Kitili Farm, Kikora Farm, Mboga Tuu, Engirkir Crushe, Namanga Town, Bisil, Ngatataek, Maili Tisa, Kumpa, and adjacent customers are advised to make necessary arrangements to cope with the temporary loss of electricity during this period.

The planned interruption is part of routine maintenance activities undertaken by Kenya Power to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the electrical infrastructure in the region.

Customers are urged to exercise caution during this time and take necessary precautions to minimize inconveniences.

Simultaneously, residents in the Muthinga, Mungaria, and Maingirano areas of Nyeri County will also be affected by scheduled power interruptions. Starting at 9:00 A.M. and concluding at 5:00 P.M., the outage will impact Muthinga, Kaigode, Mungaria, Kangubiri, Nyaithe, Maingirano, and adjacent customers.

Similar to Kajiado County, the power outage in Nyeri County is part of the utility company’s proactive maintenance strategy. The temporary interruption is expected to facilitate essential upgrades and improvements to the local power grid.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to plan accordingly, ensuring that essential electrical appliances are turned off to prevent damage when the power is restored.

Additionally, it is advised to use alternative power sources, such as generators, where possible, during the scheduled outage.

According to the Kenya Power statement, the power utility company assures customers that every effort will be made to complete the maintenance work within the specified timeframe. Any unexpected delays will be communicated promptly.

Affected residents are urged to stay informed through official channels for any updates or changes to the schedule.
