Showmax unveils premier league streaming plan
Kenyan Premier League enthusiasts are in for an exhilarating experience as Showmax announces its grand relaunch in February 2024.
Boasting a revamped appearance, a brand-new app, and an entirely new suite of products, the streaming platform is set to redefine the entertainment landscape.
This development follows the groundbreaking partnership between MultiChoice and international media giants Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Sky, revealed last year.
Showmax’s relaunch promises a record 21 Showmax Originals from four African countries, along with an extensive international content slate.
The highlight of the announcement is the introduction of the continent’s first standalone Premier League mobile streaming plan, a game-changer for football enthusiasts.

The streaming service will release more than 1,300 hours of new Showmax Originals in 2024 across Africa, providing viewers with an average of more than 3.5 hours of fresh local content daily.
The diverse lineup includes the return of the hit Kenyan drama series Single Kiasi, adaptations of South African bestsellers Red Ink and Catch Me A Killer, and reality TV shows like Widows Unveiled and Chocolate Kings.
For international content aficionados, Showmax’s partnership with MultiChoice and Comcast ensures a continuous supply of hit content from media giants such as Universal Pictures, NBC, Peacock, Sky, DreamWorks Animation, and Telemundo.
The streaming platform already hosts the most nominated shows at the upcoming Emmys and the TV drama winner at the recent Golden Globes.
At launch, viewers can anticipate international highlights like Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning and Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, along with the second season of Halo.
The migration onto the global Peacock streaming platform ensures HD quality with Dolby 5.1 surround sound.
The CEO of Showmax, Marc Jury, expressed excitement about the big year ahead.
“We will be kicking it off with a content slate packed with world-class entertainment from the world’s biggest brands plus more African Originals than ever before and the first-ever mobile Premier League plan for Africa.”
