Sleep well Charli: Actor Charles Ouda to be cremated at Kariokor


Plans for the final farewell to the late actor, Charles Ouda, have been revealed, indicating that he will be cremated at Kariokor on February 15, 2024.

The update comes from a WhatsApp group dedicated to coordinating burial arrangements, where a detailed schedule of events was shared.

According to the communication, a church service will be held at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by the last rites at Kariokor for immediate family members.

Additionally, a fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 5:30 pm, to be held in the Higher Trinity room at All Saints Cathedral.

On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the cortege will depart from Chiromo Funeral Home for an overnight vigil at the family home.

The late actor’s family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time, extending appreciation to all who have shown solidarity.

In response to inquiries from Nairobi News regarding the cremation plans, an admin from the WhatsApp group stated, “Thank you for reaching out. All details are being finalised today by the family, and an official announcement will be made tomorrow.”

News of Charles Ouda’s passing was first announced by fellow thespian Mkamzee Mwatela, alongside a statement from Ciru Muriuki and the Ouda family, confirming the heartbreaking loss.

“It is with deep sorrow that the family of Charles ‘Charlie’ J. Ouda and Ciru Muriuki inform you of his passing on the night of 3rd February 2024.

He was a beloved son, brother, and friend. Charlie was 38 years old. We appeal to all to give his fiancée Ciru, and the Oudas space to grieve this unfathomable loss.
