Tuma Fare! Wema Sepetu’s unconventional strategy to keep unwanted suitors at bay

Famous Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu has revealed her unique approach to dealing with persistent suitors, popularly known as ‘Mafisi’—she simply asks them for money.

Ms Sepetu shared that her unconventional tactic serves as an effective deterrent, helping her ward off unwanted attention from men who refuse to take a hint.

Expressing frustration with the incessant advances she receives, Wema Sepetu admitted that she devised the strategy to avoid appearing rude while ensuring that the attention dwindles.

“If I’m not into you, I don’t like you, I have no feelings for you, the only way to get you packing and leaving me alone is to keep asking you to foot my bills,” explained Wema.

She added, “That’s how I cut men from my life. I would be sending you invoices every other minute. You will definitely get tired and disappear.”

Despite her use of financial requests as a defense mechanism, Wema insisted that it should not be misconstrued as gold-digging.

“Ideally, I’m not the kind to ask a man for money, especially if I genuinely love and care about you. I don’t subscribe to this idea that because he is my man then I should be asking him for money. That is not love. A guy who is in love with you will always know how to take care of you, that means giving you money if he wants to, but not me asking. That’s just not my thing,” clarified the former Miss Tanzania.

Wema, who has been in a relationship with singer Whozu for nearly two years, recently opened up about her perspective on monogamy. She expressed a belief that no man can ever be satisfied being with one woman and that, eventually, most men end up having more than one partner.

While she acknowledged that this viewpoint doesn’t necessarily mean Whozu is cheating on her, she emphasized that, as a man, anything could happen.

“There is no man with just one woman; it’s in their nature not to remain loyal to a single woman. Even if the man doesn’t have another woman now, he will eventually end up having more than one. It’s the sad, hurtful truth that we need to accept. I have accepted it,” voiced Wema.
