US based Kenyan family seeks financial support to burry kin
The family of a woman who passed away while in the United States of America (USA) is seeking financial support to carry on with her funeral.
Ms Jerioth Wambui Mathenge James, died on August 25, 2023, in what the family said was a long battle with cancer.
“It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved Ms Jerioth Wambui Mathenge, which occurred on Friday, August 25, 2023, in Hemet, USA,” an obituary by the family read in part.
The family also made it clear that Ms Mathenge will be laid to rest in the USA at the Miller-Jones Cemetery in Hemet California.
She is survived by her husband Dr James Kanyita Muriithi and six children: Susan Mathenge, Purity W. Kanyita, Joseph M. Kanyita, George N. Kanyita, Esther W. Kanyita, and Emmanuel K. Kanyita.
Currently, the family is holding in-person meetings which will be held every Saturday at their residence in the USA from 4 pm to 6 pm. The Address of the home is 5001 W. Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA 92545.
The family is also seeking financial support to foot the hospital bill.
“There will be a fundraiser scheduled for Friday, September 8, 2023, at St Andrews Pentecostal Church of East Africa Church from 4 pm. The final memory service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Christ is the Answer Ministry along Ngong Road from 11 am,” the family further said in a statement.
“Any financial support can be channeled to Pay Bill number 8054623 with the account being the name of the sender,” the family further said.
Friends and family have also opened a GoFundMe account where anyone is asked to contribute.
By the time of going to press the family had raised Sh160,000 out of Sh4.3 million.
