Woman’s body dumped near Moi Air Base barracks

Police in Nairobi are investigating an incident in which the body of an unidentified female was found dumped near Moi Air Base in Eastleigh, Nairobi County.

It remains unclear how the body of the woman was dumped at an area which is under the clock security from Kenyan soldiers.

The body was found by a group of herders who were grazing cows near the area.

“The matter is currently under investigations to ascertain what transpired leading to the death of the woman,” Nairobi county police boss, Mr Adamson Bungei, said.

Meanwhile, the body of a man who was reported missing a week ago has been dangling from the roof his house in a suspected suicide case.

The deceased man was last seen carrying a shopping bag outside the apartment where he lived on February 25, 2023.

His neighbours’ attention was drawn by a smell from his house, prompting them to alert the caretaker who then informed the police.

In the year 2021, a total of 500 people reportedly died by suicide in a span of three months which was way higher compared to all the suicides cases the previous year.

The Kenyan Government then said the deaths were as a result of tough economic times occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic which saw many people lose their jobs.
