You urgently need to store water if you live in these estates


Nairobi residents have been asked to store water to tide them over between Wednesday and Thursday when supply of the commodity to most parts of the city will be cut off.

In an advert, the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd says there will be a scheduled shutdown of the Ng’ethu Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday, 1 July 2015 from 6am to Thursday, 2 July 2015 at 6pm.

“The shutdown will enable maintenance works to be done at the plant inlet – phase dividing chamber which will further enhance water production”.

The areas that will be affected include:

• The whole of City Centre, University of Nairobi Main Campus, Coco Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), EPZ- Athi river.

• Areas along Mombasa road: South B, South C and the neighbourhoods.

• The whole of Industrial Area.

• Areas along Juja Road: Mlango Kubwa, whole of Mathare, Eastleigh Air force Base, Huruma, Kariobangi, Pangani , Eastleigh.

• Areas along Jogoo Road: Maringo, Buru Buru and the surrounding estates, Bahati.

• Areas along Outer-ring road: Baba Dogo, Dandora, Dandora KCC factory, Umoja , Donholm, Fedha, Tassia, Avenue park, Nyayo Embakasi.

• Areas along Kangundo Road: Ruai , Kayole, Komarock, Njiru.

• Areas along Thika road: Kenya Breweries, Kenyatta University, Kahawa Barracks, Kasarani, Mwiki, Kahawa Sukari, Garden Estate and Thome Estate.

• Areas along Limuru road :Parklands, Ngara, Aga Khan hospital, University of Nairobi – School of Law and City park area, United Nations- Gigiri, Muthaiga.

• Areas along Mountain View, Naivasha Road, Kangemi, Satellite, Kawangware, Waithaka and the surrounding areas.
