Harambee Stars are mediocre, Wanyama is average, says Liberian coach
Liberian coach, James Debbah, has sensationally described the Kenya national football team as “mediocre” while also insisting that the team’s captain Victor Wanyama is average.
The Lone Stars coach made these comments in a series of interviews during his three day visit to Kenya.
On Tuesday afternoon, he was in charge of his team during a 1-0 loss at the hands of Harambee Stars at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.
Greece based forward Paul Were scored the victors lone goal in the second half, a strike Debbah maintains was scored from an offside position, although television replays suggests otherwise.
OFFSIDE GOAL
The 46 year old tactician, who boasts a stellar career having turned out for among other teams, AS Monaco, Lyon, PSG and Nice during his playing days, was also seen gesturing to his players to leave the field in protest after Were had scored the goal.

On Harambee Stars: “They are mediocre (a section of journalists laugh), yes I said they are a mediocre team. They have struggled to beat us at home with all their professionals and yet we came with out third rate team.”
On Victor Wanyama: “I don’t follow him very much but from what I have seen today, he is average.”
On Kenyan football: “I don’t follow the Kenyan league.”
On the goal his team conceded: “I am alarmed by the level of officiating here and yet this was just an international friendly. That goal was offside and my players are very disappointed.”
On his thoughts about Kenya: “I haven’t seen much of Kenya but it looks average. Remember I have lived in Paris and New York for a very long time.”
