Esther Passaris rejoins ODM, renews rivalry with Shebesh

Nairobi businesswoman Esther Passaris has announced she will vie for the Nairobi Women Representative seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.

Ms Passaris lost the seat on a Kenya National Congress ticket to TNA’s Rachel Shebesh in the last election.

The Adopt a Light boss had until last week expressed intent to run for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, but withdrew her candidature after it proved ‘unrealistic’.

On Sunday, she attended the ODM rally in Kibera where she announced that she had returned to her ‘mother party’.

She will battle it out with Mountain View MCA Beatrice Kwamboka, aka Mrembo wa Jiji, in the upcoming party primaries on April 23.

Ms Passaris had in 2007 unsuccessfully contested the Embakassi constituency seat on ODM ticket.
